With Varilux lenses, head movements are reduced to 6º – only half as much – while the eyes are able to turn 19º. The gradual and regular distribution of power characteristics in the periphery of the Varilux lens allows for very comfortable vision in a lateral, side-to-side gaze. The Varilux wearer enjoys larger fields of vision with less head movement.

Near the age of 40, a condition known as Presbyopia develops. It’s a natural part of aging which makes it difficult to focus on things close. Since the days of Ben Franklin, the solution to this has been bifocals.
